An Emmy, Peabody and Humanitas Award winner, his other credits include The Blacklist (NBC), Big Sky (ABC), Mr. Mercedes (NBC Peacock), Boston Legal (ABC), The Practice (ABC), Life (NBC) and The Firm (NBC). He is the author of two books, the novel Deadly Force (2015), and the memoir Lawyers, Liars, and the Art of Storytelling (2014), and an adjunct law professor at the UCLA School of Law. Prior to becoming a writer, Shapiro practiced law for 10 years as an Honors Program Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division Organized Crime & Racketeering Section, and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. A graduate of the University of California Berkeley School of Law, he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in history from Harvard University, and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oriel College, Oxford University. Amy Feinberg (director) Freelance director, master teacher, and producer residing in Boulder, CO, Amy has enjoyed a career that has focused on new play development and premiere productions around the country. She created and headed the Directing Playwriting and Production program at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia (2004-2012) and was the Producing Artistic Director of The Hypothetical Theatre Company in NYC 1992-2012. Amy is currently working on projects with playwrights in various stages of production and has recently workshopped Eight Nights by Jennifer Maisel and online projects over the pandemic. In New York, she has directed the premieres of There or Here by Jennifer Maisel, My Sweetheart’s the Man in the Moon by Don Nigro, Beautiful Hills of Brooklyn starring Joanna Merlin, The Action Against Sol Schumann by Jeffrey Sweet, Ordinary Heroes and Almost Grown Up by Aviva Jane Carlin, Gun Club by Hunt Holman, Quake and Sparrow Project by Melanie Marnich, Sitting Pretty by Amy Rosenthal, Buying Time by Michael Weller and its extended run via SB Productions; The Heart of Art by Michael Weller, Mickey's Home by Stephen Fife, the critically acclaimed Ghost on Fire by Michael Weller, and many others. For the National Park Service, Amy wrote, directed and produced Ellis Island Stories which was in residence at the Ellis Island immigration Museum 1992-2000 and now tours nationally to schools, festivals, libraries, etc. Other NY and Regional Credits include: A Rose For Miss Emily: the Emily Griffith Story and Goldineh Medina (Curious Theatre in Denver), Topdog/ Underdog at The Freedom Theatre (Forbidden Culture), There or Here workshop (Play Penn), Brass Birds Don’t Sing (True Colors & Jewish Theatre of the South) in Atlanta, Almost Grown Up (Sacramento Theatre Co), The Action Against Sol Schumann at (JTS) in Atlanta, West Coast premiere of Quake, Shedding Light (Shadowland Theatre), Gun Club (Cherry Lane), etc. In Philadelphia, Amy has directed the Philly premieres of The Walls by Lisa Dillman, Quake, Jennifer Maisel’s Match, and Shedding Light by Rich Orloff, and a classic production of To Kill a Mockingbird for Uarts. Amy holds an MFA in directing from Northern Illinois University and is a proud member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, the Actors Equity Association and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
Megan Davis (Production Stage Manager) is thrilled to be a part of her first Theater Or production. A newer member of the Colorado theatre community, Megan has recently worked with as Production Manager/Stage Manager at Firehouse Theater Company and as Stage Manager for Englewood’s Shadows of Sleepy Hollow Megan is beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing people and is looking forward to the return of live theatre!
Misha S. Zimmerman (Rehearsal Stage Manager) is delighted to be working with Theatre Or for the first time. Misha is the Company Producer at Local Theater Company in Boulder, Colorado where her stage management credits include Discount Ghost Stories: Songs from the Rockies, Paper Cut, Wisdom from Everything and the annual Local Lab New Play Festival. Other credits include The Secretary (Curious Theatre Company), The Headliners (Cherry Creek Theatre), Florencia en el Amazonas (Opera Steamboat) and The Enchanted Pig (Opera Steamboat). Misha holds a BA in Theater and Literature from the University of Colorado and participated in the Semester at Sea study abroad program.
Becca M. Hunt (ASM/Assistant to the producer) recently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Theatre Stage Management. She was previously a stage manager for A Chorus Line, Cabaret and The Chamber Opera Festival (University of Northern Colorado) She was also an SM for The First Date (The Little Theatre of the Rockies). Becca was also previously an assistant stage manager for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (UNCo), Hot L Baltimore (UNCo), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (UNCo) and Catch Me If You Can (LTR). Becca is very thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with such a great theatre.
Rachel Finley (Costume designer) is a Colorado native who has been active in theatre for over 10 years. She studied performing arts at Colorado Christian University earning her Bachelors of Arts then spent time in New York City continuing her studies at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Starting her theatre career as an actress she transitioned to also being a costume designer in 2012. In 2016 she created her own costuming company named Rachel’s Costume Shop. Her most recent projects include HONK! Donna Kanne (Properties Design) is excited to join Theatre Or for this production. She has designed Pass Over, Skeleton Crew, The Humans, and The Cake (Curious) as well as The Oldest Boy and The Spitfire Grill (Vintage). She received her BFA in Theatre from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Laura K. Love (Scenic Designer) For the past 35 years, Laura has worked as a designer, technician, and teacher at theatres and universities throughout the Rocky Mountain region, including the Denver Center Theatre Company, the Arvada Center, MSU Denver, the University of Denver, the Aurora Fox Theatre, Vintage Theatre and Phamaly Theatre Company. She is recently retired from the Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she designed costumes and scenery for almost 20 years as well as teaching in the BFA program in Applied Theatre Technology and Design.
Brian Miller (Technical Director, Photographer) has been an active designer, builder and photographer in the area for more than twenty years, and is delighted to build this one. Recent work includes lighting designs for The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes (Forgelight) and One Night Six Plays (5280 Artists Coop), and lighting and scenery for Murderers (Bas Bleu). Brian won a Henry Award in 2018 for lighting The Crucible (OpenStage) and in 2019 for scenery for The Waverly Gallery (Bas Bleu), is a certified AACT Theater Adjudicator, and proudly serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Theatre Guild.
Rick Reid (sound designer) Rick has served as sound designer on more than 100 stage productions. Recent credits include: Puffs (Lost and Found Productions), Little Women (Parker Arts/Sasquatch Productions), Frost/Nixon (Vintage Theatre Productions), and Three Viewings (Firehouse Theater Company/Wheat Ridge Theatre Company.) Steven Tangedal is celebrating his 42nd season as a Director, Actor, Designer and Producer in Denver. Steven holds a BS from Minot, ND State University in Music and Theater Arts and work towards an MFA in Vocal Conducting at CU/Boulder. Steven served as Executive Artistic Director of Theatre Group (Theater On Broadway, Phoenix Theater and Theater Out Denver). He was named Outstanding Business Person of the Year by the Colorado Business Council, has been honored with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and a True West Award for his work with lighting productions in the metro area.
Zoe Fischoff (Assistant to the Producer) is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. While there, she received a KCACTF Meritorious Achievement award for her dramaturgy work on A Broadway Christmas Carol (CU Presents). Most recently she worked as a literary management and production intern on a new play festival, Science Shorts (BETC).
